Numbers...

As promised, I am back with some numbers. I need to lose 96 pounds. 

Last week I was at 283.1 and I want to get down to 187.1 (I came up with the .1 to make it a whole number).

I know that it's a lot and when you just think about the number it's kind of discouraging. It's really tough to know that you have so much weight to lose. But I am determined this time: I WILL lose 96 pounds. Week 1 is already completed and I lost six pounds. Not bad! I am quite happy with the number. I did not follow the diet completely but I tried to make smart choices when I had to change some stuff.

A little bit of background. I came to Canada ten years ago. I left the healthy mediterranean cuisine behind and I substituted it with junk. So year after year I kept adding pounds to my weight. As this was not enough, I went from playing a team sport (handball) to not exercising at all.

My plan is to start eating healthier and slowly introduce exercising back to my life. The only thing that I do right is that I walk a lot and I want to continue that. I hope to lose an average of 3 pounds per week. I believe it's a manageable number.

Finally!

First of all welcome to this blog! 

I have finally decided to go on diet. You can call me Drakoumel even though I look more like Obelix. What's worse is that I don't have the excuse of falling in the magic potion when I was a little boy...

I am turning 30 pretty soon and for the past eleven years my weight has been increasing. It's been going up and up and up; well, I am sure that you get the picture... Up until now I did all I could not to stop this. If anything, I contributed to the weight gain by not exercising and by eating garbage all the time.

My goal is to lose around 75 pounds. I plan to post here weekly with my progress. I 'll back next week with some numbers!
